Lynn Refer Lynn started his telecommunications career with Ameritech Development Corp in 1990, where he was the Director of Investments and Acquisitions. There he was responsible for helping to create and execute the former Bell Company's plan to diversify its business. In 1993, Lynn left Ameritech to become the Vice President of Implementation at MFS Communications, which later was purchased by MCI WorldCom. Throughout his seven year tenure at MFS/MCIWorldCom, Lynn continued to be a key contributor in the growth, strategic development, and network planning and engineering of the combined companies and their acquisitions of additional local and long distance companies. He left MCIWorldCom in 2000 as Senior Vice President of Network Planning and Engineering to co-found Looking Glass Networks. At Looking Glass Networks, Lynn served as the CEO and co-founder of a provider of high capacity fiber optic telecommunications services in twelve US cities. He raised private equity to initiate the company's business plan and later raised several tranches of senior debt facilities. Lynn was able to take the company to positive leveraged free-cash-flow via strategic revenue growth, careful capital expenditure outlays and aggressive cost management. Lynn successfully led the company through a sale to Level 3 Communications in 2006 for $172 Million. Lynn was most recently President of Metro Network Services at Level 3 Communications, where he was responsible for all network functions of Level 3's metropolitan area fiber optics facilities. Lynn has held board positions for a variety of associations and companies including COMPTEL and APAC. He currently sits on the board for Peerless Network Inc. Lynn holds a Masters of Management degree from Northwestern University's Kellogg Graduate School of Management and a Bachelor of Science from Iowa State University's College of Engineering. |  |
