John Carruth
Sr. Vice President of Network Services
Prior to joining Telecom Transport Management John, was Sr. Vice President, Metro Network Services at Level 3 Communications; responsible for all planning, engineering and provisioning of services across Level 3's 100+ metropolitan networks, which included the legacy Level 3 cities as well as those of acquired local companies ICG Communications, Progress Telecom, Telcove, and Looking Glass Networks.
Before Level 3, John was one of 5 co-founders of Looking Glass Networks. At Looking Glass Networks John was Vice President of Network Services responsible for all network-related functions including Engineering/Technology, Provisioning, NOCC, Customer Care, Operations, Implementation, Collocation, Warehouse & Supply Chain Management, and Carrier Relations.
Previously John was the Vice President of Implementation Engineering for MCI Worldcom managing 785 employees and a capital budget in excess of $1.2B annually. His team was responsible for the engineering and installation of all local transport DACS, data switches, timing and telemetry systems.
Prior to that position, John also served as the Vice President of Network Planning and Capacity Management at Worldcom where he directed network planning, traffic engineering, provisioning, ILEC collocation and capacity management for Worldcom's local switched voice network.
He was previously Director of Network Planning for MFS Communications Company and spent a number of years prior to that at CenturyTel and Siemens.
John received an Associate Degree from the United Electronic Institute in Oklahoma City.
